Villagers in Phayao province have flocked to a revered anthill believed to bring good fortune, hoping for a lucky start to the new year. The anthill, located in Mae Ka subdistrict, Mueang district, has previously provided accurate three-digit numbers to those seeking fortune.

The villagers gathered with offerings of flowers, incense, garlands, and colourful cloths, along with talcum powder, to pay their respects to the guardian spirit of the anthill, known locally as Phaya Chom Pluak. This site, situated by a road in Ban Mae Ka Luang, has become a focal point for those seeking lucky numbers. On this occasion, after paying their respects and applying powder to the anthill, the villagers reported seeing the numbers 886. Many quickly captured the moment with their mobile phones, eager to use these numbers for upcoming lottery draws.
