The Thaiger is one of Thailand’s most diverse and innovative media startups – we deliver the most up-to-date news and information from across Thailand to our English and Thai-speaking audiences. The national news is our lifeblood, we report it in written format on our website, mobile app, social media channels and in video format on our daily YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels (English and Thai).
Every month our website and mobile app are visited by more than 6 million readers, our LineToday articles are read more than 22 million times (Thai language only), and our two TikTok channels generate more than 60 million views.
As we grow beyond being just a ‘news site’, we are offering our audience local deals and discounts from a huge network of local partners, insurance and finance products and so much more. And for our clients, we’re expanding our offering of simple media advertising to include much more targeted and relevant advertising packages and digital marketing services, alongside our high-end media productions.

A (very) Brief History
Formed in 2018 as a digital rebrand of The Phuket Gazette, one of Thailand’s largest and well-known English language regional print newspapers, The Thaiger expanded beyond local Phuket news, going nationwide. Our Thai language service was launched just a year later and has long since surpassed the readership of the English news, with local Thai’s coming to read about the latest news, sport, lottery and entertainment.
Having acquired The Phuket Gazette, the new owners, Digitial Broker Ventures, wasted no time digitising the company – shifting everything online; a new website, Social Media presence, a YouTube and TikTok channels, forum and mobile applications. And the old print newspaper was replaced with a daily email newsletter, sent straight to your inbox.
In 2021 we carried out our first external fund-raising round in which members of the audience were invited to invest in The Thaiger Pte. Ltd. for our Pre Series-A Round. We were able to successfully raise almost half a million US-Dollars from several Thaiger followers. This money was used to expand the company beyond just reporting the news and help us diversify into other areas, such as eCommerce, Daily Deals, Media Production and more.
And 2024 saw our first acquisition – we bought the digital assets of Thailand’s number one expat/English language forum, ASEANNOW.com (formally ThaiVisa). With it’s 2 million monthly readers/contributors and 20+ years of user-generated content, we believe this additional asset to the Thaiger arsenal will help us to reach an even larger English speaking audience here in Thailand and the greater ASEAN region. Exciting times lay ahead for The Thaiger Team!
