Chachoengsao man dies during livestream as friends hear gasping

A man from Chachoengsao died suddenly while livestreaming late at night on Tuesday, prompting friends to rush to his home after he disappeared from the screen, and disturbing sounds were heard.

The incident occurred around 2am on February 6 at a one-storey house in Bang Samak, Bang Pakong district. Officers from Bang Pakong Police Station, along with Chachoengsao rescue workers, arrived to find the lifeless body of 24 year old Weerayut Wongsakha, the homeowner, lying on a sofa in the living room.

Weerayut’s livestreaming equipment was still set up on a nearby table. Officers reported that no visible injuries were found, and his body was sent to Bang Pakong Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A friend, 46 year old Nuanprang, was waiting at the front of the house when police arrived. She told officers that Weerayut had been livestreaming around 10pm, chatting casually with friends on social media.

However, she noticed that during the session, his behaviour became unusual, and shortly after, he vanished from the screen. According to Nuanprang, what followed was a troubling sound that resembled someone struggling to breathe.

For the next 30 minutes, the stream remained live, but Weerayut never reappeared on camera. Only the faint sound of laboured breathing could be heard before the broadcast eventually cut off on its own.

Sensing something was wrong, Nuanprang rode straight from Lat Phrao to check on him, only to find her friend lying motionless on the sofa. She immediately called rescue services, who later confirmed his death at the scene.

Officers are still awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, reported Thairath.

In similar news, a Myanmar national detained for public intoxication in Sri Racha, Chonburi, was found dead in a police holding cell, prompting an investigation into the cause of death. Detainees in nearby cells said he appeared pale and was struggling to breathe before becoming unresponsive.
