Chicken rice shop left with 100 boxes after customer refuses delivery
A chicken rice shop in Chachoengsao gave away dozens of meals yesterday, March 17, after a customer allegedly placed an order for 100 boxes and then refused to accept the delivery.
Locals queued outside the premises as the shop gave away boxed chicken rice free of charge. Some customers also asked to pay, saying they felt sorry for the vendor after the meals were sold below cost.
The shop owner, 45 year old Man-ngern, said a young woman called the previous day to order 100 special portion chicken rice boxes worth about 5,500 baht.

The customer later added her on Line and requested delivery near Chachoengsao Technical College. The owner did not ask for a deposit because the customer’s profile appeared genuine
She rushed to prepare the large order and sent her husband to buy extra ingredients from the market. With the vehicle nearly out of fuel, he queued for almost two hours to fill the tank before shopping and returning. She then cooked and packed all 100 boxes.

When it was time to deliver, the customer allegedly refused to accept the food. The owner said calls were initially ignored, and when contact was made via Line, the customer used abusive language, leaving her upset. The meals were brought back to the shop.
The incident was then posted in a food group, prompting many social media users to transfer money or place orders. The shop reduced the price to 40 baht per box to help clear the stock and limit losses, down from the usual 55 baht for the special-size boxes.
Some people transferred sums such as 500 baht or 1,400 baht without taking any food, asking the shop to give the meals to the public for free. Others travelled to the shop to buy boxes at the discounted 40 baht price.
Khaosod reported that the owner urged the person responsible not to target other shops, saying the scam caused serious hardship. She added that support from locals helped ensure all 100 boxes were distributed.
Similarly, a late-night food order in Pattaya ended in chaos when a group of teenagers ordered a large amount of food but refused to accept the delivery. The incident left the delivery rider frustrated and out of pocket.
