How businesses in Thailand are creating 10x more engagement without paid ads by becoming part of real conversations, powered by Boosted by People

Your ads aren’t broken; the system is. Here’s what’s replacing it, and why real people are the new media.

You don’t need a billboard on Rama IV or a six-figure digital ad spend to make noise anymore (and truthfully, even that no longer guarantees attention). These days, the smartest businesses in Thailand are skipping the usual pay-to-play game entirely, but still reaching their target audience. And no, you don’t need a macro influencer or fancy algorithms either. What you need is real people.

That’s the idea behind Boosted by People, a Thailand-born martech that connects businesses with everyday social media users. Launched by digital media entrepreneur and content creator Dan Cheeseman, the platform enables businesses to run awareness campaigns by offering their content directly to users across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and VK. In return, those users are compensated for each post they share, based on performance.

According to the company, businesses using the platform have seen their content engagement up to 10 times more people than through paid placements on conventional ad networks or large-scale influencer deals, and at a fraction of the cost.

How Boosted by People works

The process begins with a business uploading campaign content (a social post) to the Boosted by People dashboard. They set a budget, choose demographic targets and interests, and submit their creative content. The platform then matches the campaign with relevant users, influencers, and page owners based on topic and performance history.

Users are notified of new campaigns through their dashboard and email. If they like the post and agree to share it, they receive payment once the post goes live. The better the post performs, the higher their engagement rating becomes. Users with stronger performance are prioritised in future campaigns and can access higher-paying opportunities.

There is no minimum budget required to start a campaign. Businesses can run tests by location or interest, track cost-per-click (CPC) in real time, and adjust based on performance. This flexibility is useful for startups and small enterprises that need to manage spend tightly while still achieving visibility.

Boosted by People’s platform includes built-in reporting tools. After launching a campaign, businesses receive access to data showing how many users shared the post, which audiences performed best, and how many clicks were generated. The entire process is centralised, which reduces reliance on third-party media buying or agencies.

Campaigns are reviewed for content quality before going live. The platform does not accept posts containing hate speech, political content, or misleading claims.

Addressing the ad fatigue problem

Many business owners using traditional digital ads, or influencer marketing are growing frustrated. Despite raising their budgets, they still struggle to connect with the real people who matter to their business. Algorithm changes, rising competition, and shrinking organic reach have made digital marketing unpredictable and impersonal.

Boosted by People flips the model — helping businesses become part of real conversations shared by trusted local voices.

Boosted by People addresses this problem by offering a low-risk way to extend marketing reach. Instead of buying reach from a platform, businesses work with actual users who choose to share their content. Every campaign is based on interest, relevance, and personal networks.

The platform has already attracted attention from businesses in property, e-commerce, food, fitness, and lifestyle. One of Boosted by People’s early adopters, Sebastian Hopp of Siam Royal View, said the shift to Boosted by People resulted in higher visibility than what they had previously achieved using paid ads.

Another user, entrepreneur Alex Parry, said that distributing content through regular users helped his business generate better engagement. According to him, peer-to-peer sharing resulted in increased trust and more qualified traffic.

User participation and earnings

One of the platform’s main selling points is that it does not require a large following. Social users with fewer than 3,000 followers can register as participants, while influencers and page owners can apply through a separate portal. Both groups are compensated per post, and top performers are given access to higher-paying campaigns.

Participation is entirely optional. Users are only invited to share posts that match their stated interests. They can choose which posts to share and are encouraged to provide feedback on posts they decline. This feedback is shared with the business as part of the campaign report.

To improve performance, users can update their interests at any time. They are also encouraged to write short captions when sharing, which can improve their engagement rating. Users with strong engagement can be promoted to ‘Top Influencer’ status within the platform.

Payouts are processed through the Boosted by People online wallet. Once users reach the minimum threshold, they can request payment to their bank account. The platform also includes a referral program where users receive five percent of the earnings of any friends they invite.

Registration is free.
