Camping tents and luxury setups on Jomtien Beach has whipped locals into a frenzy, expressing concerns over its legality. On January 4, residents in Pattaya reported these tent installations along the Jomtien stretch, questioning their compliance with Thai laws and regulations.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that several businesses had transformed sections of Jomtien Beach into makeshift camping grounds with decorated tables, chairs, and lighting to draw in tourists. Locals voiced concerns, claiming these setups violated regulations that restrict the use of public beaches for commercial purposes and prohibit items that obstruct public access.

In addition to the commercial setups, individuals were seen setting up camping tents, anchoring them in place, and enjoying picnics with food and drinks. Such activities have ignited concerns from locals, calling upon local governing agencies to reclaim public spaces.

While certain vendors, such as those renting out umbrellas and beach chairs, are permitted on parts of the beach, they must adhere to strict regulations. Vendors, however, are entirely banned from the Na Jomtien stretch of the beach, reported Pattaya News.
