Lop Buri road crash leaves woman with broken leg
Woman’s motorcycle overturned due to a crack and poor visibility

A young woman has suffered horrific injuries, including a broken leg, after her motorcycle toppled due to poor road conditions and non-functioning streetlights in Lop Buri province.
The accident, which occurred on a stretch of the Chai Nat-Pa Sak irrigation canal road, has highlighted a growing problem in the area that locals are desperate to see addressed.
The incident took place between bridges 8 and 9 in Mueang district, near a special education centre, yesterday, June 4.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was navigating the stretch when her motorcycle hit a large crack in the road.
With no streetlights to guide her, the poor visibility and dangerous conditions led to her vehicle overturning. In addition to the broken leg, she suffered a split lip, extensive bruising, and abrasions.
The distressing accident was shared on a local Facebook page, where it quickly garnered attention. The post highlighted the long-standing road damage and non-operational streetlights, which have been an ongoing issue in the area.
“Why has this road, which was newly constructed, deteriorated so quickly?” one local asked, voicing frustration over the lack of timely repairs.
Local officials have been under fire for their failure to maintain the road and provide necessary lighting. In response to the incident, evidence has been collected, and a formal report has been filed to ensure the responsible authorities are held accountable.
Community members are calling for urgent action, insisting that the road’s condition poses a serious risk to public safety, reported KhaoSod.
“This could have happened to anyone,” said one concerned resident. “It’s been months, and nothing has been done to fix it. It’s time for the authorities to step up.”
As the investigation continues, locals hope this accident will serve as a wake-up call to the authorities, prompting swift repairs and improved safety measures to prevent further injuries. The community remains on edge, waiting for action on this long-neglected stretch of road.
