AirAsia is making domestic travel more affordable than ever, joining forces with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to encourage travellers to explore hidden gems across the country.

The budget airline is rolling out one-way fares starting at just 880 baht, giving tourists the chance to visit 16 destinations spanning all four regions of Thailand.

The limited-time promotion is available for bookings until March 9, with travel dates set between March 10 and September 30. AirAsia aims to connect lesser-known cities with tourists eager to explore Thailand beyond its mainstream hotspots.

The northern region boasts flights to Chiang Rai, Phitsanulok, Nan, and Lampang, while Isaan offers seven destinations, including Loei, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Roi Et.

In the south, travellers can hop on budget flights to Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Chumphon, Ranong, and Narathiwat.

Notably, Udon Thani is accessible from Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports, providing greater flexibility for travellers.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool emphasised the importance of dispersing tourism across the country to boost local economies.

“TAT aims to link significant cities with attractive tourist destinations, ensuring an even spread of income across all regions.”

“AirAsia is committed to supporting domestic travel, especially to these unique destinations. While they may not be major tourist hubs, these cities offer distinctive charms that appeal to a new generation of travellers seeking experiences that resonate with their lifestyles.”

The initiative is expected to breathe new life into lesser-known provinces, encouraging travellers to explore beyond Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, reported TTR Weekly.

With affordable flights and increasing connectivity, Thailand’s hidden gems may soon become the next big travel trend.

Travellers interested in the budget-friendly fares are encouraged to book early to secure their seats and take advantage of the limited-time deal.
