Furious foreigner floored by water gun in Pattaya Songkran bust-up

A Pattaya Songkran party took a dark turn when a furious foreigner with a fresh tattoo got soaked against his will, only to be blasted in the face with a water gun during a heated bust-up, landing him in hospital and police on the hunt for the culprits.
The Songkran celebration on Pattaya’s infamous Soi 6 descended into chaos last night after a foreign tourist was struck in the face with a water gun following a row over unwanted soaking, despite his desperate attempt to stay dry due to a fresh tattoo.
At around 8.30pm, yesterday, April 15, Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Rescue Unit received an emergency call reporting an assault on a foreign man in Pattaya Second Road, Nongprue, Bang Lamung district. Rescue volunteers and Pattaya City Police rushed to the scene.
There they found the injured man, believed to be around 35–40 years old, groaning in pain on the pavement with a deep gash under his eye and blood streaming down his face. His identity and nationality have yet to be confirmed.
Rescue workers noticed a waterproof dressing covering a new tattoo on his back, suggesting he had just been inked and was trying to avoid water exposure, something not ideal during Thailand’s rowdy new year festivities.
According to witnesses, the tourist was riding a motorbike along the road when he passed a group of three to four foreign revellers armed with water guns. He reportedly raised his hand to signal he didn’t want to be sprayed but the group ignored him and soaked him regardless.

Furious, the man pulled over, confronted the group, and a heated argument quickly broke out. Things escalated when one of the revellers struck him directly in the eye socket with a water gun before the group bolted from the scene, Channel 7 News reported.
The victim was given emergency first aid before being sent to hospital for treatment.
Police at the scene advised him to recover first, then file a formal complaint. Officers are now working with investigators to review CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects involved and bring them in for questioning.
Police are also reminding Songkran celebrants that participation should be consensual, and soaking someone who clearly opts out could land you in hot water.
