Heartache and scandal erupted in Udon Thani yesterday, as a 64 year old Thai woman and her children have taken a stand against her husband, accusing him of bigamy in a saga straight out of a soap opera.

The victim, Oi, and her family, yesterday, February 27, presented their grievances to investigators in Mueang Udon Thani district.

They’ve levelled accusations against Oi’s husband, Pla, for entering a second marriage and allege he’s been up to his neck in fraudulent antics, including using divorce papers from another wife to siphon assets over to the son of his new partner, “Mam.”

Oi expressed her sense of liberation and has drawn strength from friends who persuaded her to confront the betrayal head-on. Speaking candidly, she shared her past struggles with loneliness and tears during the ordeal but now stands firm with her family bolstering her resolve.

Her son underscored that unity was the family’s mantra as they rallied behind their mother. While the bitter reality of their father’s deceit lingers, they prioritise Oi’s choice to seek justice, standing by her in solidarity.

“We saw this coming but it’s Mum’s decision to fight.”

Caught off guard, Pla admitted his wrongdoings over the phone, owning up to the charges of bigamy and dubious document dealings. While he pleaded ignorance of the legal quagmire he’s landed in, he’s now bracing for the mediation showdown set for March 12.

Reluctantly ready to face the music, Pla agreed to both a split on amicable terms and a fair division of assets with Oi, reported KhaoSod. Despite his admission, he hints at shadowy forces manoeuvring behind the scenes, keen to gain control of his assets.

Adding another layer to the drama, Pla has claimed that he once tabled a staggering offer of 40 million baht to Oi and the kids, an offer he insists was snubbed. Publicly, he’s even welcomed the idea of trading his freedom behind bars over this entanglement.

As the courtroom drama looms, this twisting tale of love and legalities is far from its final chapter.
