Investigation revealed that the water level in the Yom River had decreased, causing the riverbank soil to weaken. This led to the house collapsing into the river, trapping several individuals inside. Among those trapped were two men aged between 40 and 50 years and a 10 year old girl.

At approximately 4pm, Sanguan Masena, the Deputy Governor of Sukhothai Province acting on behalf of the Governor, accompanied by Somjet Limpapan, an advisor to the Minister of Interior, Papon Sontam, the Senior District Officer of Sawankhalok, and officials from the Sukhothai Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office, visited Village No. 4 to oversee the relief efforts. The deputy governor instructed the relevant authorities to expedite assistance according to government regulations.

The victims were identified as follows: Panumas, the homeowner, sustained minor injuries; 51 year old Wanpen experienced minor injuries; Yaowaret and Ronachai also suffered minor injuries.
