Myanmar man found dead after booze binge in Samut Prakan
Flatmates thought victim was sleeping off alcohol after all-night party
A Myanmar man was found dead in a Samut Prakan condo after a night of heavy drinking with friends, prompting police to investigate the cause of death.
At around 9pm yesterday, November 10, police officers from Bang Pu Police Station were called to a condominium in the Bang Pu Mai subdistrict, Mueang district, after reports of a dead man in one of the rooms.
Arriving at the scene with rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, officers found the body of a man lying on a bed, partially covered by a blanket. The deceased was later identified as Tae Ko Oo, a Myanmar national of approximately 30 years old. Police estimate he had been dead for at least three hours before the discovery.

Initial investigations revealed that the man had been drinking heavily with friends the previous night and into the early morning. According to statements provided through an interpreter by the victim’s brother, three people shared the room. Tae had been living there for over two months and was known to consume excessive amounts of alcohol regularly, often without eating.
“He was drinking with us last night, as usual. We thought he was just unwell and needed to sleep it off.”
Another friend, surnamed He, confirmed that Tae had a long-standing habit of heavy drinking, often continuing until dawn.
“He used to pass out from drinking, so we didn’t think it was serious this time.”
The group believed Tae had simply overindulged again. It wasn’t until later that they realised he was unresponsive and called emergency services.
There were no immediate signs of foul play, and no injuries were observed on the body. However, officials have transferred the remains to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital, Chakkrabue Din, for a full autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, reported Channel 7 News.
Once the examination is complete, the body will be returned to the family to conduct funeral rites in accordance with their religious customs.
Police continue their investigation, and believe the death is likely due to alcohol-related causes. They urged people with similar drinking habits to seek help, noting the growing number of sudden deaths linked to extreme alcohol consumption.
