Tragic lorry crash claims driver’s life and leaves two injured in central Thailand
A fatal accident occurred when a six-wheeled lorry crashed into the back of a trailer, resulting in the death of the driver and injuring two others. The victims were returning from a concert when the crash occurred. The incident, which happened on Phet Kasem Road in Ban Lat District, Phetchaburi, was reported to the local police at 2.54am today.
In the aftermath of the collision, the six-wheeled black lorry, registered in Nonthaburi and owned by a certain company, was found to have rammed into the rear of a Phetchaburi-registered trailer. The impact trapped the victims inside the lorry’s cab. With the assistance of rescue equipment, the responders worked for over 30 minutes to free the injured.
Among the injured, 24 year old Nat, from Pathum Thani, suffered a significant head injury. He received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to Bangkok Phetchaburi Hospital. Another 30 year old victim, Waranyu also from Pathum Thani sustained minor injuries. Tragically, the lorry’s driver, 38 year old Chatri was killed in the crash, reported KhaoSod.
Waranyu recounted that he and his friend were returning home to Pathum Thani from a concert in Hua Hin. He was sitting with his head down throughout the journey, and when he looked up, their vehicle had already collided with the trailer. He wasn’t sure whether the driver had fallen asleep or couldn’t brake in time.
Police are investigating the lorry crash scene and plan to review nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident.
An incident occurred at the Wat Jai intersection where a female driver of a pickup truck collided with a student transport vehicle, causing the vehicle to overturn and sustain extensive damage.
