A shocking incident unfolded at a festive event in the Phon District of Khon Kaen when a woman was fatally stabbed by an unknown assailant.

The incident occurred in the early hours of today, December 6, during the Ngiew celebration, a traditional festive event. The fatally stabbed woman suffered from severe injuries, succumbing to the wounds later in the hospital. Amidst the ongoing investigation, local police are urgently hunting the suspect.

Upon receiving the distress call, emergency services rushed to the scene. They found the victim, a woman, in critical condition with wounds to her neck and right ear. Despite immediate attempts to resuscitate her, the victim could not withstand the severity of her injuries and later passed away in the hospital. The culprit, however, managed to flee the scene, leaving the police of Phon District on a manhunt.

The tragic event took place after 2am, a time when the police and related officers were ensuring peace within the event. This was also when the crowd was dispersing after the conclusion of the main stage performance on the first night.

As officials were managing the dispersal, they received a distress call from the emergency radio centre about a violent dispute involving the use of a bladed weapon near the roadside within the Ngiew event area, reported KhaoSod.

The current focus of the officials is to expedite the investigation. Preliminary information suggests that the perpetrator is a male, whose identity is yet to be confirmed.
