Love triangle ends in violent stabbing at Samut Prakan condo

A confrontation allegedly linked to a love triangle turned violent outside a condominium in Samut Prakan today, January 27, leaving three men injured, with two in critical condition, after a knife attack broke out during the clash.

Police from Samrong Nuea station were alerted to a stabbing incident at the entrance of a condominium in Thepharak subdistrict, Mueang district, Samut Prakan province. Emergency responders from the Samut Prakan Rescue Association and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured.

Upon arrival, officers found two injured men lying near the building entrance. One of them, 24 year old Thanwa, sustained a severe stab wound to the abdomen and was listed in critical condition. Another victim, 21 year old Weerakorn, was also stabbed in the right side of the abdomen.

Both were given first aid at the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. The alleged attacker, identified as 21 year old Kittiphop, later surrendered himself to police following the incident.

According to Weerakorn, Thanwa had gone to the condominium to talk things through with his girlfriend, but upon arriving, discovered she was with a new partner. He then reportedly returned with a group of friends and went to her room, where a confrontation broke out.

Weerakorn said he tried to intervene but was also injured during the incident.

Kittiphop, identified as the woman’s new partner, gave a different version of events. He told police he had been seeing her for just over a week and was in her room when three men knocked on the door. He claimed they entered without saying a word and immediately began attacking him.

Fearing for his life, he said he grabbed a knife to defend himself before fleeing the scene. He later decided to turn himself in to the police.

Dailynews reported that police have invited everyone involved, including witnesses at the scene, to give further statements. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances before taking legal action against those responsible.

Similarly, back in July last year, a fatal knife fight between two Myanmar nationals left both men dead after a violent confrontation over a suspected love affair in Karon. Witnesses said the two men met to discuss their ties to the same woman, but the conversation quickly escalated into a violent knife fight.
