Baby jackpot! Pregnant woman’s home birth sparks lottery frenzy
A pregnant woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy in her rented room, prompting neighbours to seek lucky lottery numbers from the event. The birth took place at room number 51 in the Don Hua Lo subdistrict, Mueang District, Chon Buri province.
Rescue workers from Thammaratanee Maneerut Foundation received an alert about the emergency and coordinated with Chon Buri Hospital’s emergency unit to assist.
Upon arrival, they found 25 year old Piyaporn lying on a mattress with the newborn beside her, crying loudly. Swift action was taken by the emergency unit to ensure both the mother and the baby received the necessary medical attention. They were transported to Chon Buri Hospital for further care.
A neighbour, identified by the pseudonym A, described the morning’s events. Normally, Piyaporn resides with her husband, who had left for work earlier, entrusting A with the task of looking after her.
A was unaware of the labour until Piyaporn’s husband called to inform her that his wife was in pain and needed help. Upon entering the room, A found the baby’s head already visible, prompting an immediate call to the rescue team.
Boontham, a 59 year old neighbour, shared that he had never witnessed an in-room birth before but believed the child brought good fortune to the family. He mentioned plans to use the room number of the newborn‘s birth for his lottery ticket in the upcoming draw today, October 1, hoping for some luck, reported KhaoSod.
Rescue worker Thammarat Acharwarin detailed the response, highlighting the immediate coordination with Chon Buri Hospital’s emergency unit. Despite arriving post-delivery, the team ensured the newborn, a healthy boy, and the mother were both stable. They were then taken to Chon Buri Hospital for additional care and recovery.
