Missing man found dead in truck on Chachoengsao motorway
A 53 year old man was found dead inside a truck parked on a motorway after his daughter called him unsuccessfully for three days.
Officials from the Department of Highways received a report yesterday evening, January 7, concerning a white Toyota pickup truck, registration number 2 ฒข 2254 Bangkok, parked on the motorway at kilometre marker 42+300 in the Bang Wua subdistrict of Bang Pakong district, Chachoengsao province. The vehicle had been sought by relatives after contact with its owner had been lost since January 5.
Upon inspection, emergency services found the pickup truck parked by the roadside, with a matching registration number as reported. The driver’s side window was slightly open by approximately 12 centimetres, and the doors were locked. Inside, a man was lying on the driver and passenger seats, unresponsive to initial calls and attempts to rouse him by knocking and shaking the vehicle.
Police from Bang Pakong Police Station, along with rescue services, were alerted to the scene. Officials managed to unlock the vehicle by reaching through the window and confirmed that the driver, identified as Adul Hayee, had passed away.
No signs of struggle were present inside the vehicle. Investigations, led by Police Lieutenant Theerapong Lordthonglang, are ongoing, with the body sent to Bang Pakong Hospital before being transferred to the Police General Hospital for an autopsy. Evidence and witness statements are being compiled for further legal proceedings.
Thanapong Singsawat, a 27 year old delivery driver, was the individual who reported the vehicle. He recounted driving between Bangkok and Chon Buri when he first noticed the parked truck. It was only after seeing a Facebook post seeking the vehicle that he contacted the deceased’s daughter and notified the police, reported KhaoSod.
In related news, the Be One organisation located a missing 26 year old Thai woman in the southern province of Phetchaburi on January 6, after she informed friends that she was abducted by two men and went missing for six days.
