Grandmother faces arrest over mysterious death of baby Pang
Police are preparing to issue an arrest warrant for the grandmother of one month old baby Pang, who died under mysterious circumstances after being in her care for only five days. The autopsy revealed subdural hematomas on both sides of the brain and bruising on the leg.
The tragic death of baby Pang has left her parents in deep sorrow and confusion. After entrusting their daughter to her paternal grandmother for a brief five-day period, they were faced with the heartbreaking news of her demise.
The infant was discovered with blood at her mouth and nose, and since the incident, the grandmother has been evading contact for over two months. The distressed parents have sought assistance from Pavena Hongsakul to liaise with police and investigate further.
Yesterday, December 12, at the Pavena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women in Pathum Thani, a significant development took place. A woman, referred to as 28 year old Aem, along with her husband, travelled from Lopburi to meet Pavena Hongsakul, the foundation’s president.
Earlier that day, Pavena had arranged for foundation staff to accompany the couple to the Police General Hospital’s forensic institute. There, they met with Anuchet Phaksomboon, Deputy Inspector of Nong Prue district Police Station, Chon Buri, to discuss the findings of the autopsy conducted on baby Pang.
The forensic examination revealed troubling details. It was found that there was a significant amount of bleeding under the thick membrane at the top of both hemispheres of the brain, amounting to 10 cubic centimetres.

Additionally, bleeding was observed under the thin membrane in the same region, along with bruising on the leg. These findings have prompted the police to expedite the collection of evidence to issue an arrest warrant for the grandmother.
In a statement, Aem expressed her hope for her mother-in-law to come forward and surrender.
“I urge my mother-in-law to come forward and tell the truth about what happened to my child. The fact that she fled has left us in anguish and uncertainty.
“I miss my daughter dearly and hope the authorities can bring justice swiftly.”
Baby Pang’s father shared similar sentiments. He expressed his desire for clarity and honesty regarding the tragic incident involving his daughter.
“I want to understand what transpired with my child. My mother, who is the child’s grandmother, has disappeared, and I implore her to surrender and reveal the truth. If she is innocent, let that be proven.”
Pavena extended her condolences to the grieving family, acknowledging the profound loss they have suffered. She expressed gratitude towards Thawatchakiat Chindakornsanoong, the Chon Buri Provincial Police Commander, and Tawee Kudthalaeng, the Superintendent of Nong Prue Police Station, for their dedication to the case, reported KhaoSod.
Pavena also urged parents and guardians to ensure they are prepared for the responsibilities of childcare.
“If you are unable to care for your children personally, they may be vulnerable to unforeseen dangers.”
Pavena also appealed to the grandmother to cooperate with the police and provide an honest account of the events.
