Electrician dies after being ran over by lorry in Samut Prakan

A 50 year old electrician in Samut Prakan was hit by an unidentified vehicle, causing him to fall and be fatally run over by a lorry. The incident was witnessed by a taxi driver who promptly alerted the lorry driver.
Police Lieutenant Isara Saengsawang, Deputy Inspector of Phra Samut Chedi Police Station in Samut Prakan, received a report yesterday, February 18 at 3.30pm of a collision involving a motorcyclist on Suksawat-Pom Phra Chul Road near the Pom Phra Chul sub-power station in Mueang Pak Khlong Bang Pla Kot, Phra Samut Chedi district.
The motorcyclist had been struck, losing control and subsequently run over by a lorry. Emergency services and a medical team from Phra Samut Chedi Hospital were called to the scene alongside the Poh Teck Tung Foundation’s rescue team.
The accident took place on a two-lane road where the electrician, Chotphat, was found lying on his left side with a crushed head and a broken right arm. Nearby was a blue-and-white Honda Wave motorcycle, bearing the registration 1 กย 9470 from Bangkok.
The victim was identified as Chotphat, a resident of Yannawa, Sathorn district, Bangkok, who was certified as an indoor electrician by the Knowledge Assessment Centre under Section 26/4 (/2).

A taxi driver reported that he was dropping off a passenger near Wat Laem Fapha School when he saw the motorcycle overtaking from the left side at high speed, attempting to pass the lorry.
The motorcycle then lost control, and Chotphat was thrown under the lorry’s left rear wheel, resulting in a fatal head injury.
Despite the incident, the lorry did not stop, prompting the taxi driver to follow and inform the lorry driver. The driver turned into a company on Wat Laem Fapha Road, where the taxi driver then called the police, reported KhaoSod.
Initially, police sent the body to the hospital and reviewed CCTV footage. They have also summoned the lorry driver for questioning as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
