Thailand to honour Pope Francis with 3 days of mourning

In a heartfelt gesture of respect and mourning, the Thai government ordered all government agencies and state enterprises to fly their flags at half-mast for three days in tribute to Pope Francis.
The mourning period began today, April 23, and runs through to Friday, April 25, following the death of the beloved pontiff at the age of 88.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra issued the directive after the Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis had passed away on Monday, April 21.
The Pope, who had been grappling with health issues for several years, died peacefully at his residence in Vatican City at 7.35am.
According to a statement from the Vatican, Pope Francis succumbed to a cerebral stroke, followed by a coma and irreversible heart failure.
