Pattaya woman locks herself in bathroom as cops rush to flush her out
A woman high on drugs in Pattaya sparked chaos when she locked herself in a hotel bathroom, leading to a dramatic police intervention. Pattaya police yesterday, October 6 received reports about a Thai woman who had barricaded herself inside after her rental period had ended, refusing to vacate the premises.
When officers arrived, they spent over 30 minutes trying to negotiate with the woman but she ignored their pleas, screaming, shouting, and cursing in response. Eventually, the police had to call in a locksmith to force the door open and detain her.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, appeared highly agitated and delirious, resisting arrest and rolling on the floor while incoherently shouting, reported Pattaya News.
A search of her hotel room revealed a cannabis bong and several unidentified substances. Hotel staff reported that she had been staying at the establishment for five days but refused to check out when her rental period expired.
She had also broken multiple hotel rules, including smoking cannabis in her room. When staff attempted to inform her that her stay was over, she became frantic and locked herself away in the bathroom, said one hotel employee.
“She seemed fine at first, but when we told her the rental period was up, she went wild.”
After being safely removed from the bathroom, the woman was taken to the police station to calm down while awaiting her relatives.
It remains uncertain whether she will undergo testing for illegal drugs. Although cannabis is decriminalised in Thailand, the presence of other unidentified substances raises significant concerns.
In related news, a British man on the run from Thai police had his escape plan go up in smoke—literally. On Thursday, October 3, Chon Buri Immigration officers apprehended a 28 year old British national who was wanted for trespassing and overstaying his visa in Thailand. But in a bizarre twist, the arrest only came after he tried to flee while high on cannabis.
