Social media has been abuzz lately with the newest delicacy at Wat Arun, the Arun Amarin temple, which is a Bangkok landmark. The Pop Icon 3D Ice Cream, a Thai and foreigner favourite, has now been reinvented into two new flavours, highlighting Thai culture and the historical drama, Love Destiny, or Prom Likit.

The latest innovation from Pop Icon is the Thai Dress Ice Cream, or Ice Cream Princess, available at Wat Arun. The two new flavours, Mango Jasmine and Rose Lychee Milk, are presented in adorable male and female Thai dress designs. The ice creams, beautifully adorned with flower designs, are attracting tourists to photograph and share their experiences on social media before indulging in the treat.

The Thai Dress Ice Cream pays homage to the historical drama Love Destiny, or Prom Likit and represents Thai culture. The Thai dress is a national symbol recognised worldwide and the ice cream is only available at Wat Arun, a popular tourist check-in point. A visit to Thailand would be incomplete without a visit to Wat Arun, a symbol of the city with its signature tiles of various intricate designs, each with its unique meaning, reported KhaoSod.

The mastermind behind these innovative ice cream designs is Namtan Sirinya (Brand PopIcon). She once expressed her desire to elevate souvenir items through the taste of ice cream that could represent the history and identity of Thailand. Not only can history be conveyed through text, but it can also be transmitted through taste.

Currently, the Ice Cream Princess is available for 89 baht per stick at the Arun Cafe in Wat Arun, and at the Wat Arun Pagoda after 5pm. Many people see this as not only a way to cool down but also a chance to appreciate the beauty of Thai art in ice cream form. It serves as a soft power that attracts tourists and demonstrates the value of Thai art, not only in tourist spots but also in edible products.
