The disaster prevention and mitigation team from the Pho Klang Subdistrict Municipality received a call yesterday, January 14, about someone stuck in a household water tank. Upon arrival, the team saw the homeowner stuck in a 500-litre tank, visible only from the chest up, prompting immediate action to help free him.

The homeowner explained that he had decided to fix the water pump’s float valve inside the tank, which was malfunctioning. After completing the repair, he found himself unable to climb out due to the tank’s height and its slippery interior.

Despite efforts to push himself out, he remained trapped. With only children and elderly individuals at home, he realised external help was necessary. The homeowner eventually instructed a relative to contact emergency services for assistance, reported KhaoSod.

In a related story, a 73 year old man fell into a 3-meter-deep water tank at Khao Luk Chang Temple in Prachin Buri province in September 2023. He was trapped for over two hours before being rescued by the Satja Phutta Dham Thailand Rescue Team.

The man had been repairing the leaking tank when he accidentally fell in. A passing monk heard his cries for help and alerted the rescue team, who successfully extricated him.
