Thai man found dead in car after unusual online order

A 29 year old man was discovered dead in his vehicle after ordering items online, raising suspicions among family members who had noticed his unusual behaviour three to four days before his death.

Yesterday, March 26, at 7.30pm, Police Lieutenant Colonel Jaresak Suwannasont, Deputy Inspector of Bang Nam Priao Police Station, was informed about a death inside a car parked in a garage in Moo 15, Bang Nam Priao subdistrict, Bang Nam Priao district, Chachoengsao province.

The police coordinated with the forensic team, Bang Nam Priao Hospital doctors, and the Chachoengsao rescue unit to investigate.

Upon arrival at the scene, a bronze-grey Isuzu pickup truck was found parked with the engine off and all four doors locked.

Inside the vehicle, on the front passenger seat, was the body of 29 year old Ongart. Beside him was a small red fan, while a white basin with burnt charcoal remnants was discovered in the back seat.

In addition, a parcel delivered by a private company was found at the back of the pickup truck. The parcel showed signs of being opened and contained charcoal, which is believed to have been ordered by Ongart for use in this incident.

After the forensic team completed its investigation, rescue personnel removed the body from the vehicle for an autopsy. Initial examination revealed no signs of foul play, and the wife and relatives did not suspect any foul play in his death.

As a result, the Chachoengsao rescue team was entrusted with transporting the body to Wat Bang Sai for religious rites.

According to inquiries, Ongart had been suffering from stress, although the cause was unknown. Family members tried to communicate with him, but he remained silent.

Two to three days before his death, he had expressed a desire to die, prompting his family to offer comfort and support while keeping a close watch on him. On the day of the discovery, the family noticed his parked vehicle but could not find him, reported KhaoSod.

Growing concerned by the evening, they searched and found him unresponsive in the car.

They used a spare key to unlock the vehicle, only to find he had already passed away. The family was unsure when the charcoal was ordered, but it is suspected it was specifically for this purpose.
