Body of unidentified young girl found in Saraburi roadside forest
Police are working to identify the body of a young girl found in a roadside forest in Nong Don district, Saraburi, yesterday, February 23. One of her arms was missing, and officers believe she died five to six days before she was discovered.
Officers from Nong Don Police Station and rescuers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation were called to the forest area along Chai Nat-Pasak Road at about 3pm to examine the body. The area was reported to be quiet, with no nearby homes. The road also had no street lights.
According to ThaiRath, the body was found about three metres from the road. The girl, believed to be between three and five years old, was lying face down and was covered with a purple cartoon-printed bedding sheet and a white towel.
She was wearing long jeans, a pink jacket, a nappy and blue socks. Her right arm was missing, and her body was decomposing, with worms found. Police said the condition of the body suggested she had died about five to six days before being found.

The first person to discover the body was identified as 48 year old Sittichai Kirirat. He told police he was riding his motorcycle past the area after work when he noticed what he initially thought was a doll. He said he stopped to look more closely and found it was a child’s body, and that there was a strong smell in the area.
Police told media there had been no report of a missing person in the area. The body was sent to the Central Institute of Forensic Science in Pathum Thani for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and assist with identification.

Investigators are reviewing any nearby CCTV footage to look for suspicious people who may be linked to the case. Police also asked families with missing children to contact Nong Don Police Station and provide information.
In a separate incident, a one year old boy was found dead in a garden ditch behind his home in Ang Thong on February 2. The child, who had recently learned to walk, was believed to have wandered off, fallen into the ditch and drowned.
