Khao Kheow Open Zoo showers animals with Christmas gifts
Khao Kheow Open Zoo is spreading festive cheer with its Christmas and new year celebrations, delighting visitors and animals alike. The zoo’s director, Narongwit Chodchoi, alongside the management team, has organised a special event to bring joy to the park’s wildlife. This initiative is part of a larger festive programme welcoming tourists as 2024 makes way for 2025.
The zoo has arranged a gift convoy featuring a friendly Santa Claus and beloved mascots representing the zoo’s star animals. Within these gift boxes, staff have carefully packed the favourite treats of various wildlife species, creating a delightful surprise for the animal ambassadors at Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
Among the recipients are capybaras, the hippo gang leader affectionately known as Nong Khamoo, the little superstar pygmy hippo Moo Deng, along with the young rhino Nong Power and Nong Top. This initiative promotes various natural behaviours among the animals, enriching their lives during the festive season.
From December 29 to 31, Khao Kheow Open Zoo invites visitors to camp beneath the stars, enjoy the chilly mountain air by the lakeside, and experience the nocturnal habits of wildlife through the Khao Kheow Night Zoo event. A special countdown event, Khao Kheow Countdown 2025, is set to take place on December 31, offering a unique way to ring in the new year.
On New Year’s Day, the zoo offers free entry to children and seniors aged 60 and above. This offer applies to children under the age of 12 or with a height not exceeding 135 centimetres. Additionally, adults born in the Year of the Snake can enjoy a 20% discount on admission by presenting their ID card. For further details, visitors can contact 096-9742546 or 038-318444 extension 213.
