Tragic accident claims life of motorcyclist in Pathum Thani

A 25 year old man tragically died in a road accident involving a six-wheel truck and a pickup truck near the Ban Hun intersection on the Thanyaburi-Wang Noi road in Pathum Thani province. The incident occurred at noon yesterday, April 6, when the vehicles collided, causing the truck to lose control and crash into Em Sukprasert’s stationary motorcycle.

Police Major Praphan Rueangsuwan of Khlong Ha Police Station received reports of the accident involving a chemical-laden Isuzu truck and a Nissan pickup truck. Both vehicles lost control and collided with Sukprasert’s Honda Wave motorcycle, which was parked as he waited to cross the road.

Emergency services arrived to find Sukprasert dead behind the Isuzu truck, while the pickup truck driver sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital by Por Teck Tung Foundation staff.

Sukprasert had just bought groceries, including eggs and vegetables, from a local market and was on his way home to Wat Si Samut Khlong Chet area. The driver of the six-wheel truck, 42 year old Nitit Jitsawang, explained that he was driving straight from Thanyaburi to Wang Noi, transporting chemical ice from Lam Luk Ka to Lopburi.

He stated that as he approached the intersection, the pickup truck emerged from a side street, leading to a collision that caused his vehicle to veer into the opposite lane, hitting the motorcycle.

Pol. Maj. Praphan recorded evidence at the scene and instructed Por Teck Tung Foundation personnel to transfer the deceased to Thammasat University Hospital’s forensic department for further examination. An investigation into the accident will continue, with nearby CCTV footage under review, and further questioning of those involved will take place at Khlong Ha Police Station, reported KhaoSod.
