Tragic truck accident in Phetchabun claims two children’s lives

A six-wheel truck accident in the Phetchabun Province resulted in the tragic deaths of two children under 10 and left three adults seriously injured.
The crash occurred yesterday, March 30, when the truck overturned, colliding with a pedestrian bridge in front of the Pananikom Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital on the Saraburi-Lom Sak Road in Mueang district.
The Phetchabun Provincial Road Safety Operations Centre reported the incident at 1.38am yesterday, March 30. Emergency medical services received notification about the accident, which involved a six-wheel truck overturning and hitting a pedestrian bridge in front of the Pananikom Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital.
At the accident scene, five people were found injured. A 37 year old man experienced back pain, tightness in the chest and hips and had abrasions on his body and face but remained conscious.
A 17 year old suffered a 10 to 15 centimetre laceration on his right foot and had abrasions on his body, and was also conscious. The third person, between 20 and 30 years old, had abrasions on his body and was conscious.
Tragically, two young boys, approximately three to four years old and five to eight years old, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Rom Pho Phetchabun Foundation dispatched ambulance 03, ambulance 05, and equipment vehicle 01 with personnel and volunteers to assist at the site. They used hydraulic tools to extract the bodies from the vehicle.
The duty officer, along with the on-call doctor, ensured the bodies were transported to the Phetchabun forensic department. The cause of the accident is under investigation by local police, reported KhaoSod.
In similar news, a high-speed tuk-tuk race on a Bangkok street resulted in a horrific crash, leaving three people seriously injured. One of the drivers sustained a critical head injury.
The accident took place late last night, March 3, prompting a police investigation. Police are now awaiting blood alcohol test results as part of their inquiry.
