Man charged after Cardiff mother found dead on Caerphilly Road
South Wales Police have apprehended and charged a man in connection with the murder of a beloved mother, whose body was discovered in a Cardiff residence.
Officers responded to a call in the early hours of Tuesday, August 20, leading to the discovery of a 45-year-old woman’s body at a property on Caerphilly Road. Alcwyn Thomas, a 44-year-old from the Heath area of Cardiff, faces charges of murder and will appear before Cardiff Magistrates Court tomorrow, Friday, August 23.
The victim has been formally identified as Victoria (Vicki) Thomas, 45, who also resided on Caerphilly Road in Cardiff. Following this tragic event, Vicki’s family issued a poignant statement through South Wales Police.

The family’s statement expressed their devastation: “Our much-loved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend has been taken from us so tragically. We are heartbroken and will miss her forever.
