Pamela Anderson has revealed why she has distanced herself from Hollywood. Initially a model, Anderson gained global fame through TV shows like Baywatch and Home Improvement. Her marriage to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, with whom she has two sons, further boosted her stardom. A leaked sex tape during their marriage became the focal point of Hulu’s drama Pam & Tommy, featuring Lily James and Sebastian Stan.

Throughout her career, Anderson featured on the covers of magazines such as Playboy, Empire, Variety, Rolling Stone, and Vogue. However, she has recently stepped away from the limelight and redefined beauty standards. The 57-year-old has received praise for embracing her natural look, opting to forgo make-up entirely.

Known once for her daring outfits, the mother of two now chooses more modest attire, marking a significant shift in her public image. Anderson discussed her decision to stop wearing make-up with Better Homes & Gardens magazine, saying it marked the start of her letting go of her previous self-image. She reflected on the persona she had created, acknowledging it was fun but not who she is anymore.

Addressing the idea of ‘perfection,’ Anderson noted she never aimed for it but wanted to challenge conventional beauty standards. Removing her make-up, she felt a sense of liberation, stating it opened up a new world for her. During Paris Fashion Week 2023, she chose to explore the Louvre rather than spend hours in a make-up chair.

Anderson has also made a significant geographic move, leaving her Malibu residence for her childhood home on Vancouver Island. She described this return as revealing a magical path, living romantically in nature with compassion and sensuality.

Her interview coincides with the upcoming release of her cookbook, I Love You: Recipes from the Heart, set to be available from 15 October.
