The post speculated whether the attacker was a ride-hailing driver. The event reportedly unfolded around 12.30pm.

A 56 year old security guard near the scene of the incident on Jomtien Second Road recounted hearing loud arguments and witnessing the two men chasing each other into the street, although he was unaware of the underlying cause. He speculated that the conflict was related to a fare dispute.

A 30 year old woman, Nam, who recorded the incident on her dashcam, shared her account. She was driving towards Bang Saray when she spotted a Thai man wearing a helmet chasing a foreign man with a knife.

The foreigner ran across the road. Nam also honked her horn to alert others before continuing past the scene. She, too, was unsure of the reason behind the confrontation.

Pattaya police are reportedly informed of the incident and are conducting an investigation, reported The Pattaya News.
