The Marine Disaster Division of Pattaya City and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation Rescue Unit dispatched a speedboat to retrieve Andrew Anganov, who had fallen from the slide at the back of the tour boat into the sea and later lost consciousness.

Despite their efforts, along with medical staff from Pattaya City Hospital, the Russian man was pronounced dead.

A 25 year old crew member from Myanmar, identified as Ni, reported that Anganov had been playing on the slide at the back of the boat.
After sliding into the sea and returning to the boat, the Russian complained of severe back pain before going into shock and losing consciousness. The boat captain immediately contacted rescue workers for assistance.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Suphaphan Mipricha, Inspector of Tourist Police Division 4, conducted an investigation.
Initial findings indicated that Anganov had arrived in Pattaya on February 9 and was on a tour boat to Koh Sak when the incident occurred.
Anganov’s weight, which was well over 100 kilogrammes, is believed to have contributed to the severity of the impact with the water, leading to his injuries and subsequent death, reported The Pattaya News.
Pattaya City Police investigators will send Anganov’s body to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for a detailed autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The victim’s embassy and relatives have been informed of the tragic incident.
