VIDEO: Bodyguards chase acting PM Prawit’s golf buggy for 2km in Thailand

Acting Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan – aka Big Pom – entertained the Thai nation once again yesterday when he made his two bodyguards jog after his golf buggy in the sweltering heat during his trip to Chachoengsao province. One of them couldn’t keep up.

Big Pom visited a water treatment facility in Mueang district yesterday to learn about how wastewater is converted into tap water. To get to the reservoir at the back of the plant, a distance of almost two kilometres, 77 year old Prawit was transported in a golf buggy.

Despite there being six golf buggies in total, there wasn’t enough room for two of Big Pom’s security guards. The bodyguards are required to maintain PM Prawit’s safety at all times, so they jogged behind the golf buggy in the blaring morning sun in their suits and face masks.

One of the bodyguards couldn’t keep up and trailed off into the distance. The other one impressively kept on Prawit’s tail for the whole journey, with netizens joking that he must be an athlete or have extensive army training to maintain such a high level of fitness.
