Samut Songkhram: Man arrested for assaulting girl via online game

A harrowing case in Samut Songkhram has led to the arrest of a 28 year old man suspected of sexually assaulting an 11 year old girl. Police detailed that the man was apprehended on Thursday, November 7, after a warrant was issued in connection with a rape charge.

Surapol Suanguen reportedly confessed to the crime, revealing he connected with the young girl through an online game, where he convinced her to become his girlfriend. Following the deceit, he allegedly threatened to harm her and her family, leading to an incident at her home where the assault took place.

The young victim, terrified by further threats, sought help days later when Surapol allegedly menaced her with the release of a video recording of their encounter if she refused to comply with his demands again, reported Bangkok Post.

In related news, a Thai man in Chon Buri admitted to physically assaulting a victim over a 100,000 baht debt but denied attempting to rape the victim’s wife, who is eight months pregnant, claiming he suffers from erectile dysfunction.

The Thai victims sought help from news agencies following the brutal attack and alleged attempted rape by a 46 year old vintage shirt vendor. They filed a complaint at Mueang Buriram Police Station on October 23, although the incident occurred in Chon Buri on October 20.

In other news, a 38 year old man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into the bedroom of a 13 year old girl and raping her multiple times, threatening her to keep quiet each time. The victim eventually informed her guardians, leading to the man’s arrest.

Police apprehended the man at his residence in Thung Kawad, Lamae district, Chumphon province. The arrest followed a warrant issued by the Surat Thani Provincial Court on May 30 for the charge of sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 15, not his wife, regardless of consent.
