Fire destroys wooden house in Phayao, damage over 500,000 baht

In the early hours of this morning a fire engulfed a wooden house located in the Rong Jua area near Wat Sawang Arom in Mueang district, Phayao province, causing extensive damage exceeding 500,000 baht. It took over two hours for firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

Police Lieutenant Chatchasiri Jikamwan, deputy inspector at Dok Kham Tai Police Station, received the report at 1.30am, today, April 22.

Upon receiving the alert, he coordinated with the municipal fire brigade and rescue teams from Sawang Arom and Dok Kham Tai.

Following the successful containment of the fire, investigations revealed that the raised wooden house was completely destroyed.

Fortunately, the homeowner managed to escape unscathed. However, the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined pending a thorough investigation.

Initial inquiries suggest that the blaze might have been sparked by an electrical short circuit. Residents reported hearing a short-circuit sound shortly before the fire erupted, leading to speculation that an appliance left plugged in may have caused the incident.

The police forensic team is expected to conduct a detailed examination to confirm the cause, reported KhaoSod.
