The Thai Attorney General’s office has filed charges against eight defendants in a high-profile case involving the alleged contract killing of Chaimate “Tong” Sittisanitpong.
The case includes charges of conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of firearms. Yesterday, the Attorney General’s inspector, Sak Kesem Nithaiyok, and spokesperson for the office, revealed details about the case dating back to February 26.
The case involves Naphaphat Anchasamitchamon, the first accuser, and Thanatsarankorn Techatanatchoti, the first defendant, along with others including Saksith Chinwong, Thanapat Songsang, Apisit Sodchuen, Sitthichai Sriphakdi, Phattharaphon Boonchu, Sunthorn Wilawan, and Mincharat Phacharamarakul.
Due to public and media interest, this case is considered significant as per the regulations issued by the Attorney General’s office in 2020.

Charges against defendants one through seven include engaging in a criminal gang, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, possessing firearms licenced to others, possession of unlicenced military equipment, and premeditated murder. Additionally, these defendants are charged with discharging a firearm in a public area without cause.
The first defendant also faces charges of possessing ammunition not intended for licenced firearms, while the seventh defendant is charged with orchestrating the premeditated murder. The eighth defendant is charged with supporting the premeditated murder.
Additionally, there is a request to increase the punishment for the fourth defendant and confiscate seized items. However, charges related to causing damage or concealing documents were not filed against defendants one through seven.

The Attorney General’s office has already filed the case against all eight defendants at the Criminal Court. The proceedings took place yesterday afternoon, March 6.
For the charges not pursued, it has been proposed that the National Police Chief review them under Section 145/1 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The Criminal Court has registered the case as Black Case No. 629/2568 and scheduled the defendants to provide their pleas today, March 7 at 9am, reported KhaoSod.
