A 46 year old woman in Chon Buri has confessed to collaborating with her 30 year old biological son in the murder of her husband, with the intent of seizing his assets.

The victim’s body was found in a fertiliser sack in a forested area. The development comes after the body of 52 year old Wachara, a security guard from Pak Tho district in Ratchaburi province, was discovered in a forest near a road in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province.

The body, which was in a state indicating death had occurred three to four days prior, was found with identification documents yesterday, March 5, at around 7pm. Police from Huay Yai Police Station and the Chon Buri Provincial Police team interrogated the victim’s wife, Rattikan, for nearly 10 hours.

The interrogation revealed inconsistencies in Rattikan’s statements, which did not align with surveillance footage reviewed by the police. Under intense questioning, Rattikan eventually admitted to plotting the murder with her son, who is also the victim’s stepson.

Strangling in car

On March 1, at approximately 4am, Rattikan and her son drove a Toyota Vigo pickup truck, registered in Ratchaburi, to pick up her husband from his residence in Ban Chang district, Rayong province.

They claimed they were taking him to visit their daughter in the hospital before heading to work in Kaeng Hang Maeo district, Rayong.

After leaving Ban Chang, Rattikan took over driving near an oil refinery in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, while her husband was seated in the passenger seat and her son sat in the back. At some point during the drive, the son strangled his stepfather with a rubber hose.

Panic-stricken, Rattikan and her son aimlessly drove around Ban Chang and Map Ta Phut until dawn, before returning to their home in Nikhom Phatthana district, Rayong, to regroup.

They covered the vehicle with a cloth, leaving the body inside until the evening of March 1. Later, they disposed of the body in the forest where it was eventually found. The son then returned to Chanthaburi province, while Rattikan resumed her normal life as if nothing had happened, reported KhaoSod.

When questioned about the motive, Rattikan disclosed that it was related to property issues between her and her husband, but she did not provide additional details.

The police are currently gathering evidence and statements to seek an arrest warrant from the Pattaya Provincial Court, which is expected to be issued by this morning, March 6.
