Thai woman hires friend to kill her ex-boyfriend before taking her life
A Thai woman and her friend, who was in unrequited love with her, allegedly arranged the murder of her ex-boyfriend on the M6 motorway in Nakhon Ratchasima on March 28. The woman took her own life while escaping from police.
The victim, 30 year old Suppakorn “Golf” Traiphopklang, was found dead on the motorway with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Police reviewed CCTV footage and found that two suspects fled the scene in a white Mitsubishi Pajero SUV.
Investigators later identified the suspects as 28 year old Kueakool Sombat and 28 year old Chomphunuch Huajaiphet. Police arrested Kueakool at his home in Lop Buri on April 1, and he later identified Chomphunuch as his close friend.
Kueakool admitted to shooting Golf four times. He claimed the killing was planned by Chomphunuch, who was Golf’s ex-girlfriend.
According to Kueakool, Chomphunuch was unable to accept the end of the relationship and wanted to kill Golf after he began a new relationship. She first asked Kueakool to help hire a hitman for the murder of her ex at 35,000 baht, but he later agreed to carry out the killing himself.

Local news agency Khaw Khorach reported that Kueakool had romantic feelings for Chomphunuch and was willing to help her, including in the murder plan.
Police said the vehicle and gun used in the shooting belonged to Kueakool’s father. On the day of the incident, Kueakool and Chomphunuch followed Golf’s car on the motorway before Chomphunuch crashed into his vehicle to force him to stop.
After Golf got out to inspect the collision, Kueakool said he shot him twice, causing him to collapse on the road. He added that Chomphunuch then told him to shoot Golf two more times before they fled.

Kueakool told police that Chomphunuch later stopped the SUV and said she intended to take her own life. He said she got out of the vehicle and jumped from the motorway, leaving him behind, before he drove back alone to Lop Buri, where he was later arrested.
Yesterday, April 2, police found Chomphunuch’s body beneath the motorway at the location Kueakool had identified.
Police said Kueakool was under high stress and in a fragile mental state, prompting officers to monitor him closely in custody.
