Retired police general in Bangkok hit-and-run incident

A retired police general was involved in a hit-and-run accident involving a luxury car and a motorcycle near the entrance of Kluaynamthai Hospital on Rama 4 Road, Phra Khanong, Khlong Toei district, Bangkok.

The incident occurred at 11pm on April 27. The driver fled towards Phra Khanong intersection, where vigilant locals managed to stop him. The area falls under the jurisdiction of Khlong Tan Police Station.

The injured motorcyclist is currently receiving treatment in hospital. The car involved in the incident was identified as a gold Mercedes-Benz, driven by the retired police official. He was eventually apprehended.

Reports indicate that the former police officer sent an acquaintance to mediate, offering to take full responsibility for the injured party’s expenses, including motorcycle damage and medical bills.

He denied the hit-and-run allegations, claiming he was looking for a parking spot to avoid traffic congestion and did not intend to evade responsibility. He also asserted that he was neither intoxicated nor had consumed alcohol at the time of the accident.

Further investigations revealed that the retired officer had been involved in the case of Vorayuth Yoovidhya, also known as Boss, a high-profile man who was accused of a similar hit-and-run incident involving a police officer several years ago, reported KhaoSod.
