Tragic collision in Ayutthaya leaves three dead on Rojana Road

A tragic accident occurred in Ayutthaya when a car collided with a motorcycle carrying three people, resulting in their deaths at the scene. The driver claimed he failed to brake in time as the motorcycle made a sudden U-turn.

The incident took place today, March 26, on Rojana Road near Baan Montri U-turn, kilometre marker 15, in Khan Ham subdistrict, Uthai district, Ayutthaya province. Police Lieutenant Natdanai Borihan from Uthai Police Station was notified of the collision and, alongside Ayutthaya Ruam Jai Association, proceeded to investigate.

The accident scene, a dark section of a four-lane road, revealed the bodies of three victims.

The deceased were identified as 30 year old Supharit Arak from Wang Noi district, 32 year old Somporn Isarapan from Wat Tum subdistrict, and 19 year old Alisha Pongpipat, also from Wat Tum subdistrict, all from Ayutthaya province.

They sustained severe injuries to the head and body. The bodies were discovered approximately 500 metres from a severely damaged bronze Toyota Vios with Bangkok licence plate 1 กฒ 1446.

Nearby, a blue Yamaha Aerox motorcycle with a Bangkok licence plate, 9 กจ 4682, was found. Its rear was crushed, with the wheel collapsed into the wheel arch, positioned in the middle of the road amid scattered debris.

Thawatchai Nahmut, the 36 year old car driver, stated he was travelling from a friend’s house in Ayutthaya city to Wang Noi district to visit relatives.

Approaching the U-turn, the motorcycle allegedly turned suddenly, leaving him unable to brake in time, resulting in the deadly collision, reported KhaoSod.

Police are analysing the accident traces on the road and examining both vehicles. The car driver has been taken for questioning, and investigators are seeking witnesses to determine the cause of the accident and proceed with legal actions.
