Violent brawl erupts at Thai nightclub, nine injured

A violent altercation erupted among more than ten Thai youths at an entertainment venue in the Paknam sub-district, Samut Prakan province, on December 2. The incident, which took place near “The Moon” nightclub on Phraeksa Road in the Mueang district, resulted in nine individuals sustaining injuries.

The confrontation started around half-past midnight when two groups of young men started an argument inside the nightclub. Despite the intervention of security personnel who requested them to vacate the premises, the quarrel escalated outside in the parking area. The brawl, involving more than a dozen individuals, saw the use of both fists and knives, leading to nine people being injured, one of them critically.

Among those injured was Phanthakarn Angkanawarakun, a 29 year old staff member of the nightclub, who suffered a knife wound to his right arm during his attempt to separate the fighting groups.

Following the incident, police detained several individuals who had participated in the brawl. The identities of these individuals were not immediately disclosed. Bang Poo Police Station’s preliminary investigations revealed that all detained suspects were Thai males aged between 20 and 25.

The nightclub’s management reported that similar instances of violence had been occurring regularly over the past three months, almost daily. They claimed that despite this, there had been no preventive measures or inspections by the relevant authorities.

Currently, Bang Poo police are probing the incident and contemplating legal actions against the individuals involved, reported The Pattaya News.

A video of the fight between the Thai transwomen went viral on Thai social media. The footage depicted two transwomen assaulting another individual on Pattaya Beach, right in front of Baywalk Residence.
