A security guard, in a frenzied state, attacked his colleagues with a knife, leaving two seriously injured before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. The incident happened today, December 30, at the Bueng Phra Ram pétanque field in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The police are now on the hunt for the suspect.

The police received an alert about the chaotic event from the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police Station. The incident left 45 year old Bunlue with a stab wound near his chest.

Emergency responders provided initial medical assistance before transporting him to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital. A blood-stained fruit knife was recovered from the scene.

Witness Visit, a 61 year old security guard at the pétanque field, reported that he was on duty with the injured colleague when the assailant, Phakapong Nuamsri, also known as 33 year old Ke, arrived on his motorcycle. Without warning, Phakapong attacked Bunlue with a knife.

Initially, Visith thought it was a prank until Bunlue ran, crying out for help. When Phakapong continued his pursuit, Visith attempted to intervene by throwing a pétanque ball at him, but when Phakapong turned on him, Visith fled to save his own life.

“I saw him chasing after the victim, determined to stab again. I threw a pétanque ball at him, but when he turned to attack me, I had to run away,” Visith recounted.

Knife attack

Phakapong, after the attack, escaped on his motorcycle. Visith quickly informed the police to assist his injured friend.

The motive for the attack remains unclear, but it is believed that Phakapong was in a drug-induced frenzy. Before the incident at the pétanque field, Phakapong allegedly attacked Amnat, the head security guard, at Bueng Phra Ram, approximately 1 kilometre away.

In the aftermath of the second attack, police found bloodstains at the security guard’s post. Amnat was already taken to the hospital when the police arrived.

Wattana Thepthai, a 64 year old security officer, described the attack on the head security guard. Phakapong approached Amnat, stabbed him once, and then strangely bowed to Wattana before petting a dog and leaving on his motorcycle, reported KhaoSod.

“I was stunned when he came and stabbed the head officer, then calmly bowed to me and went to play with a dog before riding off,” Wattana recalled in disbelief.

The investigation is ongoing, and initial findings suggest that the assailant had a history of drug-related activities. Neither of the victims had any previous altercations with Phakapong, leaving the motive for the attack unknown. The police are actively pursuing Phakapong to bring him to justice.
