Ex-wife seeks justice over corrupt ex-cyber cop threats
Athiwat Sirikangwalsong, the founder of the Dare to Step Forward page, yesterday accompanied the ex-wife of a former cyber police officer to file a plea for justice at the Technology Crime Suppression Division headquarters in Mueang Thong Thani, Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province.
They submitted evidence to Police Lieutenant General Trirong Phiwphan, requesting protection after the woman exposed corrupt practices involving her former husband, which had led to threats against her family.
The ex-wife of the cyber police officer shared that she and her son live in constant fear, frequently moving to avoid danger due to threats and harassment. She expressed her initial intention was not to expose him but to resolve matters amicably.
However, after the issue became public in May, her ex-husband’s behaviour changed drastically, becoming more aggressive and indifferent towards their children. This transformation affected their eldest child, who has special needs, leading him to become withdrawn and less joyful.
The woman discovered documents marked Phor.1 and Phor.2 but was unaware of their significance until she sought help from a prominent online page. She handed over the documents, not anticipating the repercussions that followed.
She now wishes to retrieve them to submit to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), which requires these documents for further investigation.
Athiwat stated that they presented additional evidence to the Technology Crime Suppression Division head due to ongoing threats from the former cyber police officer. While some of these documents are new, others include the 13 document books and five bank account books previously given to the online page, which have not been returned.
These documents reportedly detail financial collections in various metropolitan and rural areas, with accounts separated by region, reported KhaoSod.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Trirong acknowledged the ex-wife’s safety concerns and assured her that local police would be assigned to ensure her security. He confirmed that the ex-husband, formerly a cyber police officer, has been disciplined and has since resigned. The contents of the documents are currently under investigation.
