Lifesaving heroine: Student performs CPR on elderly man in Phuket
A female high school student was praised for her quick response in assisting an elderly man whose heart had stopped while riding a motorcycle with a sidecar. The incident took place yesterday, January 6 at 2pm near the Cherng Talay Shrine on Srisoonthon Road in Cherng Talay subdistrict, Thalang district, Phuket province.
Upon receiving a report of an unconscious person having a seizure, the Cherng Talay Municipality rescue team dispatched an ambulance to the scene. They found the elderly man unconscious with cardiac arrest on his motorcycle with a sidecar.
The team immediately began administering CPR and utilised an automated external defibrillator (AED) to stabilise the man’s condition.
Due to the complexity of the necessary medical procedures, including CPR, AED setup, and airway management to provide oxygen, the team sought assistance from bystanders in the area.

Following these crucial interventions, the patient was swiftly transported to Thalang Hospital for further medical care.
