Rodgers described entering the room, which was in disarray with overturned furniture. She tried to remain calm and spoke softly to avoid further angering the student. Despite her efforts, the irate student threw chairs at her, followed by the hanger that caused her injury.
Following the incident on August 15, the student was detained but later released into his parents’ custody. He is barred from campus and restricted to a specific location.
