Bali to reopen fully vaccinated travellers starting tomorrow, quarantine required
The island of Bali is reopening to fully vaccinated visitors from all countries starting tomorrow. Travellers who are vaccinated against Covid-19 must quarantine for five to seven days, according to Senior Minister Luhut Pandjaitan.
The popular tourist destination in Indonesia had initially reopened in mid-October, but only to those travelling from certain countries, including China, New Zealand, and Japan. And even though Bali has been open for months, the country’s tourism minister Sandiaga Unothere says there have been no direct flights. An official from the Bali Government Tourism Office told Reuters that the island has been welcoming foreign tourists who entered Indonesia in the capital Jakarta.
Following the news of the country’s full reopening, Singapore Airlines will resume flights between Bali and Singapore starting February 16. Indonesia also reopened Batam and Bintan islands to visitors from Singapore last week in a quarantine-free travel bubble scheme.
