Scholarships awarded to 119 disabled children in Phuket

Children with special needs receive vital support for growth and education

A total of 119 children with disabilities in Phuket received scholarships to support their education and personal development, aimed at fostering inclusion and opportunity.

The ceremony, held yesterday, September 8, at Phibun Sawatdi Municipality School, was organised by the Khun Phum Foundation in collaboration with the Phuket Special Education Centre. Governor Sophon Suwannarat attended the event alongside representatives from the foundation, which is chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi.

The scholarships, each worth 5,000 baht (total 595,000 baht), were presented by Princess Ubolratana herself to help further the educational and personal development of children with autism and disabilities. In a message read out by Governor Sophon, the princess congratulated the recipients and their families, encouraging them to use the funds to maximise their children’s potential and enhance their quality of life.
