Blow and behold: British man’s nose for trouble at Phuket Airport

Drama unfolded at Phuket International Airport as a British man swapped sun, sea, and sand for cuffs at customs for cocaine possession.
The 42 year old British man found himself in hot water after allegedly kicking off and creating a scene at Phuket Airport. Following his tumultuous antics, airport officers uncovered 4.11 grammes of cocaine on him, sealed in a little plastic bag.
It all went down in the international arrivals hall at around 5pm, Tuesday, February 18, according to Phuket Airport Immigration. Once apprehended, officers conducted a search and struck white gold in the form of the powdery substance.
The alleged drug taker’s name remains under wraps, Phuket News reported, but his whereabouts are anything but secretive as he was swiftly hauled to Sakhu Police Station.
There, he will face charges for illegal possession of cocaine and the illicit importation of a Category 2 narcotic into the stunning shores of Thailand. Looks like this traveller’s stay just took a detour from paradise to predicament.

British men taking or selling drugs in Phuket is not a new phenomenon. Earlier this year police arrested a British drug dealer in the popular seaside town after observing him behaving suspiciously while meeting traffic officers on a road.
Traffic officers from Kamala Police Station stopped the British man, whose identity remains undisclosed, in the Kamala area of Phuket, on January 8.
The officers reported that they were conducting routine patrols when they noticed the man, who appeared nervous and was behaving suspiciously upon seeing them. Police conducted a search of both the man and his motorcycle, discovering ketamine in his possession.
Photos shared on the police’s official Facebook page show the drugs packed into six separate plastic zip-lock bags, seemingly prepared for sale.
In similar news, a 21 year old British man’s holiday ended in handcuffs after he was arrested at Manchester Airport upon returning home from Thailand.
Matthew Crehan, of Dentons Green Lane, St Helens, was taken into custody on Saturday, February 8, before being charged with multiple drug supply offences.
