Emergency responders arrived to find 53 year old Leo Williams, an American national, lying lifeless in a pool of blood on the road median.

His black Kawasaki Z1000 had skidded over 300 metres, leaving an oil trail before finally coming to a stop.

The violent impact uprooted two palm trees, and the force of the crash left bystanders in shock.

“He was going way too fast. When he hit the curve, he lost control and slammed into the trees.”

As Pattaya continues to struggle with reckless driving and high-speed crashes, this tragedy serves as yet another grim warning about the dangers of speeding on city roads.

In similar news, a heartbreaking accident claimed the life of a 29 year old man from Kamphaeng Phet when a trailer truck collided with his motorcycle at a petrol station entrance. In his final moments, he reached out to save his girlfriend before being fatally struck.

The crash occurred at 3pm on January 29 at kilometre marker 27 on the Asia Highway in Bo Phong, Nakhon Luang district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province.

Police Lieutenant Anusorn Muakthong, deputy inspector at Nakhon Luang Police Station, reported that the sugar-laden truck’s left rear wheel crushed the victim, identified as Tianchai. His badly damaged Honda motorcycle lay beside him, requiring heavy equipment for body recovery.
