Bang Lamung turns up heat on illegal activities

Bang Lamung district officials are rolling out the red carpet for regulation, tightening the screws on illegal activities in the area’s raucous nightlife.
In a bid to pull the plug on illegal antics and alleged extortion, a high-level meeting took centre stage yesterday, February 26, at the glittering Alcazar Cabaret.
The main focus? Enforcing laws on underage entry, drugs, human trafficking, and illegal firearms, all while keeping tourist safety in the spotlight, said one official, determined to keep the district’s party scene in check.
“We need to ensure that our entertainment venues are safe and reputable.”
It wasn’t just about the law, they tackled the Entertainment Venues Act head-on, too. New regulations will prohibit employment of under-18s, clamp down on drunken debauchery, and ban weapons, unless they’re on the hips of on-duty police officers.
The party spoilers selling booze beyond hours are destined for a rude awakening.

As part of an effort to smooth over compliance chaos, Bang Lamung district is set to launch License Month, a no-nonsense initiative to help venues get their paperwork in order by November, reported Pattaya News.
But it’s not all hand-holding, dodgy characters pretending to represent the district and demanding bribes are in for a shock, with officials insisting no such wheeling and dealing is tolerated.
Caught in the act? Report them to the police pronto! The district is singing from the rooftops that it’s curtains for nightclub naughtiness.

Last weekend Bang Lamung police officers swooped on Naklua at the weekend, leading to the arrest of four foreign nationals working illegally in the bustling area behind Naklua New Market in Chon Buri province.
The targeted raid on Saturday, February 15 uncovered a startling six-year overstaying spree by two of the apprehended individuals.
The crackdown unfolded in Moo 5, Naklua subdistrict, where police focus was squarely set on rooting out illegal foreign workers.
